First Taste of the World Cup: Uganda’s Historic Qualification in the 2024 Men’s T20 World Cup

Uganda Squad for T20 World Cup 2024 Includes 43-Year-Old Player Frank Nsubuga

Uganda has been selected to participate in the 2024 Men’s T20 World Cup, which will take place in the USA and the West Indies. This marks the first time that Uganda will be taking part in a World Cup. The squad will be led by captain Brian Masaba, who will be joined by vice-captain Riazat Ali Shah and traveling reserve players Ronald Lutaaya and Innocent Mwebaze.

Uganda and Namibia were the two teams to qualify for the T20 World Cup from the Africa leg of the qualifiers, beating out teams like Zimbabwe. The squad for the tournament includes players like Kenneth Waiswa, Dinesh Nakrani, and Ronak Patel, among others.

The team has been placed in Group C for the tournament alongside Afghanistan, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, and the West Indies. Their first match will be against Afghanistan on June 4th in Providence, Guyana.
