Top US Cities That People Are Moving To, With a Focus on Florida Metros

Florida has emerged as a top destination for domestic movers, with several cities experiencing high net migration rates. Among these, Wildwood-The Villages in Florida had the highest rate per 1,000 people, followed closely by Myrtle Beach-Conway-North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Dallas-Fort Worth-Arlington, Texas was the metro with the highest total positive net domestic migration during the period of July 1, 2022 to June 30, 2023.

According to Business Insider’s analysis of US metros with the most positive net domestic migration using data from the Census Bureau for the same period, Wildwood-The Villages saw significant population growth with a 4.7% increase from 144,767 residents to 154,883 residents. Other popular destinations included Houston-Pasadena-The Woodlands in Texas and Tampa-St. Petersburg-Clearwater in Florida. Adjusting for metro population sizes, Wildwood-The Villages stood out with a net domestic migration value of 8,684 and a rate per 1,000 people of around 60.
