Fortissimo Films, a leading international film distribution company, has announced its partnership with Momo Pictures, a Chinese production company, to handle the international distribution of their latest film “Wild Punch”. Directed by Yu Lik-wai and Wang Jing, this sports and action drama follows the story of a top mixed martial arts athlete facing competition from a younger trainee. As both athletes have something to prove, they are destined to face off in the ring.
Momo Pictures is a subsidiary of the Zhiwen Group, which is well-known for the Momo instant messaging mobile application. This collaboration marks the first partnership between Momo Pictures and Fortissimo Films. The film will be released internationally through Fortissimo Films’ vast network of distributors.
Fortissimo Films has recently acquired the international rights for Shen Jie’s animated film “The Umbrella Fairy”, adding to its portfolio that already includes other Chinese films such as Feng Xiaogang’s “If You Are the One 3” and Xu Haofeng’s “100 Yards”. The company represents cutting-edge Chinese animation like “Deep Sea” by Tian Xiaopeng, showcasing a diverse range of films from Chinese filmmakers.
