Four-Year-Old Aspiring Author Bryan Patrick Sets Sights on Breaking Youngest Author Record with Self-Penned Book

Four-year-old Bryan Patrick aims to break record as the youngest author with his debut book

Bryan Patrick, a precocious 4-year-old, has just completed his first book and is aiming to break the record for the youngest author in the Guinness Book of World Records. His journey from being fascinated by letters to creating a whole book by himself is nothing short of remarkable.

Bryan’s parents, who are educators, noticed his unique fascination with the alphabet early on when he could spell complex words like “axolotl”. They encouraged his love for letters and supported his passion for writing by taking him on family trips to the Alphabet Museum and hosting birthday parties that incorporated letters into games and activities.

Despite being in preschool, Bryan has already mastered skills that children older than him typically have. He can read fluently, knows all the letter sounds, can count, multiply, and divide – skills usually taught to much older children. His advanced abilities have led his parents to consider what grade he should be in, as traditional grade levels may not suit his capabilities.

Bryan’s parents emphasize that his achievements have largely been self-taught. Eleanor mentioned that Bryan would type out the alphabet on the computer every night, gradually progressing to sentences, and eventually a whole book in just one month. He hopes to break the record held by Saeed Rashed AlMheiri, who is only a few months older than him.

To achieve the title of the world’s youngest author, Bryan must sell 1,000 copies of his book. His family is hosting a book launch party in New Bern to support his endeavor, showcasing the young author’s creativity and determination to set a remarkable record. The party will also feature fun activities for kids to enjoy while they learn about lettering and writing from this talented young boy.
