Fredonia’s Ella Koopman and Francesca Pucci Shine in One-Sided Flag Football Victory

In an intense Division 2 South flag football game at the Orange Bowl in Fredonia, Ella Koopman of Fredonia made a daring attempt to grab the flag of Southwestern’s Ava Patti. Koopman’s impressive performance helped Fredonia dominate the game with an 80-0 victory. She ended up throwing for five touchdown passes and had a total of 137 passing yards. Additionally, she contributed 47 rushing yards and another score.

Francesca Pucci was a standout player on Fredonia’s team, racking up a team-high 99 rushing yards and a touchdown, along with 28 receiving yards and another touchdown. Natalia DiPalma also had an impressive performance, running for 73 yards and scoring two touchdowns. Other players like Makayla Tabone, Juliana Snyder, Madelyn Polhamus, Keiliany Diaz, and Ashlynn Delcamp also caught touchdown passes for Fredonia.

On the defensive side, Bryleigh Wicks was instrumental in stopping Southwestern’s attacks with five flag pulls, two interceptions, and a pass defended. Elizabeth Morris added two flag pulls and two sacks, while Paige Elliott had three interceptions, one of which she returned for a touchdown. Brianna Whitfield also recorded an interception.

At halftime, Fredonia held a commanding 54-0 lead in this one-sided contest.
