Warning Signs: Thick Lips and Big Nose Indicate Risk of Serious Diseases

A 61-year-old man seeking medical attention at Phu Tho Provincial General Hospital in Vietnam due to fatigue, headaches, and blurred vision. Upon examination, Doctor Nguyen Thi Lan Huong from the Department of Endocrinology – Diabetes observed abnormalities in the patient’s external appearance, such as thick lips, big nose, rough skin, loud voice, and enlarged bones in the extremities.

Further tests including ultrasounds, CT scans, and brain MRI revealed a pituitary tumor (Marcroadenoma) and multiple brain infarcts, along with high blood pressure, diabetes, and kidney failure. The patient underwent surgery to remove the pituitary adenoma and received treatment to manage the underlying diseases.
