Chicago Bears defensive tackle Steve McMichael, who was recently inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame, is currently hospitalized. The news was confirmed by his former teammate Walter Payton’s son, Jarrett Payton, who revealed that McMichael is undergoing tests in the hospital.

Despite his health struggles and a recent diagnosis with ALS at the age of 66, McMichael remains a beloved figure among Bears fans for his contributions to the legendary 1985 Bears defense, widely regarded as one of the best in NFL history. After playing 13 seasons with the Bears, McMichael spent his final NFL season with the Green Bay Packers.

The football world is rooting for McMichael’s recovery as he continues to face health challenges. Despite being diagnosed with ALS in 2021 and spending over a week in the hospital in February due to multiple ailments, McMichael’s induction into the Hall of Fame finally came to fruition this year when he was voted in as a senior finalist.
