From Prison to the Digital Age: G. Dep’s Quest to Reintegrate in Society

G. Dep Discusses Challenges of Reintegrating into Society Due to Technological Advances After Prison

Travell Coleman, also known as G. Dep, has opened up about the challenges he’s faced readjusting to society after serving over 13 years behind bars for murder. The 49-year-old confessed that using his phone to pay for items and seeing pay-to-ride mopeds all over the city have presented a sort of culture shock for him.

In his first interview since his release, Dep spoke with Art Of Dialogue about the biggest challenge he’s encountered – the digital age and social media society. He expressed his difficulties in adapting to the changes that have occurred during his time in prison.

Coleman was released on April 4, granted a 6-month early release, but he does not regret his decision to turn himself in for the crime he committed. Now, he is focused on reintegrating himself into society and facing the challenges that come with it.
