From Rallies to Proud Boys: New York’s Trump Trial Jurors Faced a Comprehensive Questionnaire

Full Juror Questionnaire for Trump’s Hush Money Trial Available for Review

Prospective jurors in the Trump case will be subject to a 42-question questionnaire, which covers a wide range of topics. The questions include queries about attendance at any of Trump’s rallies or campaign events, affiliation with the groups QAnon or Proud Boys, and sources of news that jurors rely on. New York Supreme Court Justice Juan Merchan described the questionnaire as expansive and detailed in his order on Monday.

While prospective jurors will not be directly questioned on their personal liking or disliking for Donald Trump, Justice Merchan emphasized that jury selection is based on qualifications rather than preferences. Jurors must demonstrate their ability to set aside any biases and render decisions based on evidence and law. The trial is expected to last for six weeks, with the core issue being whether Trump participated in falsifying business documents in an attempt to conceal an illegal scheme to influence the 2016 presidential election.
