From Scandal to NFL Revival: La’el Collins Signs with Buffalo Bills

Bills set to sign OT La’el Collins to a contract for one year

La’el Collins has signed a one-year contract with the Buffalo Bills, according to his agent, Peter Schaffer. After sitting out the entire previous season due to a knee injury, Collins is making a comeback to the NFL and will bring experienced depth behind returning starters Dion Dawkins and Spencer Brown. Standing at 6-foot-4 and weighing 320 pounds, Collins has the potential to provide the Bills with valuable depth in their offensive line.

Collins has faced numerous challenges throughout his career in the NFL, including injuries and off-field issues. In 2015, he entered the league as an undrafted free agent from LSU but faced an investigation into the murder of his ex-girlfriend, in which he was cleared of any involvement. He also missed the 2020 season due to hip surgery and was suspended for five games in 2021 for violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy.

During his suspension, Collins filed a lawsuit against the league that revealed that the NFL had accused him of bribing a drug-testing official. However, Collins’ agent strongly denied these allegations. Despite these challenges, Collins remains highly regarded as a top prospect in the NFL and will be an asset to the Buffalo Bills as they continue to build their roster for next season.
