The Global Citizen NOW summit, to be held in New York on May 1 and 2, will bring together a diverse group of political, business, and philanthropic leaders. The event aims to address issues related to food insecurity, climate change, and public health associated with extreme poverty.

CEO of Global Citizen, Hugh Evans, highlighted the importance of advancing ideas that will drive urgent action to end extreme poverty. Notable figures participating in the summit include Michelle Yeoh, Botswana President Mokgweetsi Masisi, Verizon CEO Hans Vestberg, and others.

The summit will specifically focus on efforts to defeat preventable diseases such as malaria, polio, and HPV. New initiatives to preserve the Amazon Rainforest and increase investments in Africa through the World Bank are also expected to be introduced. The summit aims to build on momentum generated among Gen Z and millennial leaders at a recent conference in Australia.

In addition to featuring prominent figures from various sectors, the event will highlight the efforts of young advocates through the Global Citizen Prize awards. This will serve to inspire the next generation of change-makers.
