At 58, Woman Breaks Plank World Record after Wrist Injury

DonnaJean Wilde, a 58-year-old grandmother from Alberta, Canada, recently broke the Guinness World Record for the longest time spent in an abdominal plank position. Ms. Wilde held the position for an impressive 4 hours and 30 minutes at the high school where she once served as vice principal before retiring.

Ms. Wilde is no stranger to planking, as she revealed that she planks for up to three hours every day. However, for this world record attempt, she trained for six hours, splitting the practice into two three-hour blocks. Her love for planking began 12 years ago when she broke her wrist and needed an alternative to running or lifting weights. She found that she could read and multitask while planking, sparking a passion for the challenging exercise.

Despite the difficulties, Ms. Wilde persevered and successfully broke the record, with her 12 grandchildren cheering her on from the audience. Her dedication to planking and her incredible accomplishment have inspired many to push their own limits and strive for greatness.
