Hai Phong is currently engaging in various forms of cooperation related to training and investment in science and technology, with the aim of becoming a leading center for high-quality human resources in the electronics and semiconductor industry in the country. Minister of Science and Technology Huynh Thanh Dat expressed his confidence in this potential during an evaluation of the Program to coordinate activities on science and innovation with the People’s Committee of Hai Phong City on March 29.
The Minister praised the successful results of the coordination program between the Ministry of Science and Technology and Hai Phong City People’s Committee, highlighting it as a model of successful cooperation between the ministry and localities. Hai Phong has implemented specific tasks as part of the coordination program, such as providing data for calculating the Local Innovation Index, applying quality systems according to Vietnamese and international standards, and organizing working groups to survey and connect technology supply and demand.
As a result of many years of efforts and continuous investment in science, technology, and innovation activities, Hai Phong city ranked third nationwide in terms of the Local Innovation Index (PII). The Minister also noted that Hai Phong was one of the localities that volunteered to pilot the assessment of local innovation capacity in 2022.
