Virginia Sports Hall of Fame to Induct Craig Littlepage, Monica Wright Rogers, and Chris Long

Three prominent individuals who have left a lasting impact on the University of Virginia will be officially inducted into the Virginia Sports Hall of Fame this weekend. Craig Littlepage, Monica Wright Rogers, and Chris Long are all legends in their respective fields and have achieved great success both on and off the field.

Littlepage dedicated 35 years to the athletic department at Virginia and an additional 9 years working with the men’s basketball program. During his time as Athletic Director from 2001-2017, he oversaw numerous accomplishments for the Cavaliers, including 13 National Championships and 76 ACC titles. He also made key coaching hires that have continued to lead Virginia to success, such as Tony Bennett for men’s basketball and Brian O’Connor for baseball.

Wright Rogers was a standout player who was named the Virginia Gatorade Player of the Year in 2006 and went on to have an impressive college career with the Cavaliers. She was highly recognized for her performance, earning accolades such as ACC Player of the Year and National Defensive Player of the Year. Her talent led her to be drafted second overall by the Minnesota Lynx in 2010.

Chris Long is a prominent player who is also the son of NFL Hall of Fame inductee Howie Long. He has had a successful career in football, including being a part of multiple Super Bowl-winning teams. His contributions both on and off the field have earned him numerous awards, including being named Walter Payton Man of the Year in 2018.
