Harvey Weinstein’s Health Issues Lead to Hospitalization After Prison Release; Legal Battle Continues over Sentence

Harvey Weinstein rushed to New York hospital with severe health issues

Harvey Weinstein has been hospitalized in New York due to various health issues, according to his lawyer, Arthur Aidala. Despite his health problems, Weinstein is said to be in good spirits and satisfied with the medical care he is receiving post-release from prison. The exact nature of his health issues prompting his hospitalization has not been disclosed, but it is known that he suffers from conditions such as heart ailments, diabetes, sleep apnea, and eye problems.

Weinstein’s representative, Juda Engelmayer, criticized the 16-year prison sentence imposed on him by a Los Angeles judge, considering it to be harsh given his age and health condition. However, this sentence was later overturned by an appeals court in New York, leading to the need for another trial in that jurisdiction. A spokesperson for the New York Department of Corrections confirmed that Weinstein remains in custody at Bellevue.
