Hendrick Motorsports Celebrates 40th Anniversary with William Byron’s Thrilling Win at Martinsville Speedway

William Byron emerges victorious in the Cup race held at Martinsville Speedway on Sunday

William Byron made history at Martinsville Speedway by winning Sunday’s Cup race, capping off a memorable weekend for Hendrick Motorsports. The victory marked Byron’s third win of the season and came as the team celebrated its 40th anniversary. This win was particularly special as Martinsville Speedway was the site of the organization’s first-ever victory.

William Byron led a thrilling race for Hendrick Motorsports at Martinsville, with Kyle Larson coming in second and Chase Elliott in third. Bubba Wallace and Ryan Blaney rounded out the top five, while Alex Bowman finished eighth. The race went into overtime due to a crash by John Hunter Nemechek which required a two-lap dash to the finish line.

Larson won the first stage and Denny Hamlin took the second stage. Byron’s strong performance, leading 88 laps and taking the checkered flag, made him a standout in the race. Bubba Wallace also had a great race, starting on the front row and finishing in fourth place, his best result at Martinsville. Kyle Larson started from the pole, led 86 laps, and finished second, while Chase Elliott led 64 laps and finished third.

However, not everyone had a good race at Martinsville. Christopher Bell faced tire issues and finished in 35th place, while Austin Dillon struggled with crew chief Justin Alexander to finish in 34th place
