Hess Corporation Donates $10,000 to Support Mental Health in North Dakota.

Hess makes charitable donation to support suicide prevention and youth mental health initiatives

In recent news, Hess Corporation presented a $5,000 check to the North Dakota Suicide Prevention Coalition. The donation was received by Kit Christensen, Hess senior specialist of Human Relations; Brent Lohnes, Hess general manager North Dakota; Alison Traynor, Human Relations counselor for the North Dakota Suicide Prevention Coalition; and Kora Dockter, chair of the N.D. Suicide Prevention Coalition.

Hess Corporation’s contribution is in addition to another $5,000 given to Northern Lights Youth Services to develop an app focused on youth mental health services. The app aims to provide support and resources to those who need it most among young people in North Dakota.

According to the North Dakota Suicide Prevention Coalition, the state’s suicide rate has increased by 58% since 1999 – the highest increase among all states in the country. This donation from Hess Corporation will help support efforts to prevent suicide and provide mental health services to those in need in North Dakota.

It is vital that we raise awareness and provide resources for those struggling with mental health issues, especially among youth. Developing an app tailored towards youth mental health services is a significant step towards providing support and resources to those who require it most. With continued support from organizations like Hess Corporation, progress can be made in preventing suicide and improving mental health outcomes in North Dakota.
