Illegal Chiropractor in Massachusetts Faces Allegations of Sexual Misconduct and Operating Without Proper License

Prosecutors allege two women sexually assaulted at unlicensed chiropractic business in Massachusetts

In Somerville, Massachusetts, a man named Jose Mendez has been charged with indecent assault and battery on a person over 14, as well as indecent exposure. The charges stem from an unlicensed chiropractic business he was operating on Cross Street. According to the Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan, two women were inappropriately touched at Mendez’s business.

During one incident, it is alleged that Mendez unzipped his pants and exposed himself to one of the women. Prosecutors claim that Mendez was running an illegal business without a proper license. He was arraigned in Somerville District Court with bail set at $5,500 and ordered to stay away from the alleged victims. The judge also prohibited Mendez from practicing as a chiropractor. Mendez is scheduled to appear in court again on May 14.

After his arrest, Mendez spoke to WBZ-TV and denied the allegations but declined further comment, stating that he needed to speak to his lawyer. Matt Schooley, a digital producer at CBS Boston, has been a member of the WBZ news team for the last decade.
