Indiana Sportsbooks Expand Betting Options with New Leagues and Activities

Betting on Badminton, Volleyball, and Wrestling Now Permitted

Sportsbooks in Indiana are now able to accept bets on a variety of new sports leagues beyond traditional favorites like football, basketball, and baseball. The Indiana Gaming Commission has approved sportsbooks to offer wagers on professional badminton, beach volleyball, and college wrestling, including the BWF (badminton) World Tour, Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour, and NCAA Division I wrestling. This marks the first time non-Olympic badminton and wrestling bets can be placed in Indiana sportsbooks.

With these additions, there are now 32 event categories approved for sports wagering in Indiana, covering a wide range of sports from Aussie Rules Football to World Jai-Alai. In certain categories, there are even more sports available for betting, such as the 25 different events during the Summer Olympics and the trials during the Paris games. Additionally, Hoosiers can place bets on unique activities such as the Nathan’s Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest or the winners of specific categories at the Academy Awards.

Sports wagering operators have the option to offer wagers on the new leagues, with some providing multiple betting opportunities on games or events, including in-game wagers. With these additions to their offerings, residents of Indiana can easily place bets on any authorized sport from anywhere in the state using a computer or mobile device. Over a dozen mobile sports wagering operators affiliated with Indiana casinos have made it easy for individuals who are 21 and older to bet on their favorite teams or athletes anytime they want it.
