Three Indian Sweets Ranked in Top 10 Rice Puddings Worldwide

Phirni, a North Indian dessert, secured the 4th position on the list. It is traditionally served chilled in small clay bowls and garnished with nuts, rose petals, and often adorned with silver paper to enhance its luxury. Kheer, another popular Indian sweet, claimed the 5th spot on the list with its various versions appreciated by food enthusiasts worldwide.

Sakkarai Pongal, a traditional South Indian sweet dish, was ranked 9th on the list. The special preparation of Sakkarai Pongal involves cooking rice over a fire, symbolizing abundance by allowing the dish to boil over during the cooking process. This unique method adds to the authenticity and flavor profile of the dish.

The top spot on the list was secured by Firin sutlac, an oven-baked rice pudding from Turkey.
