Public School Teachers in the County Excel in Teaching Math and Science – Conduit Street

The Maryland Department of Education (MSDE) has announced six finalists for the 2024 Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST) for K-6th grade. These teachers represent the most outstanding educators that the state’s counties have to offer, serving as a model and inspiration to students and fellow teachers.

Dr. Carey M. Wright, Interim State Superintendent of Schools, recognized these six finalists and said, “I am honored to recognize Maryland’s six finalists for the Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching. These teachers embody the ideals of innovation, dedication, and excellence. Their passion for STEAM education is truly inspiring, and I congratulate them on this well-deserved honor.”

The PAEMST program was established in 1983 to recognize teachers who excel in teaching science, technology, engineering, mathematics or computer science to K-12 students. The award recognizes both deep content knowledge of these subjects as well as the ability to motivate and enable students to succeed in them.
