Expansion of Licking Memorial Health Systems with addition of new clinic

LICKING COUNTY, Ohio — Intel’s presence is reshaping hospitals and leading to expansions, including at Licking Memorial Health Systems. The projection is that the population in Licking County will increase by approximately 30% due to Intel’s impact.

Licking Memorial has implemented a school-based clinic in Pataskala within Licking Heights High School to accommodate the growing population. This clinic, operating inside the school, is Licking Memorial’s first clinic of its kind. Nurse Kristine Plotts highlighted the uniqueness of the clinic, stating that they provide care to students, staff, families, and community members. By offering healthcare within the school, students can minimize class time missed, leading to higher success rates.

Licking Memorial CEO and President Rob Montagnese emphasized the need to expand availability to the community, particularly in Southwest Licking County and Northwest Licking County. They have plans for additional services in locations like Pataskala and Johnstown, with 20 acres acquired for future development. As Licking Memorial continues to plan for new services, the focus remains on meeting the needs of the growing population in the area.

Nurse Plotts expressed her enthusiasm for the opportunity to support students in achieving good health and success both in school and beyond. While Licking Memorial is still in the planning stages for further expansions
