Iran alleges that Israel attacked consulate in Syria and vows to retaliate fiercely

The Iranian and Syrian governments have accused Israel of carrying out an attack on the Iranian consulate in Damascus, resulting in the death of two Revolutionary Guard officials. According to Tehran state media, Iranian ambassador Hossein Akbari claimed that the consulate was targeted by missiles fired from Israeli F-35 warplanes.

Akbari reported that between five and seven people were killed in the attack, which he witnessed from his office at the embassy. He condemned Israel’s actions as a violation of international laws and promised a harsh response. Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian echoed these sentiments, calling for a serious response from the international community to address such criminal actions.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that at least eight people, including seven Iranians, were killed in the attack on the consulate. While Israel has not commented on the incident, past warnings about Iran’s weapon shipments to Hezbollah through Syria have been raised.
