The Iranian and Syrian governments have accused Israel of carrying out an attack on the Iranian consulate in Damascus, resulting in the death of two Revolutionary Guard officials. According to Tehran state media, Iranian ambassador Hossein Akbari claimed that the consulate was targeted by missiles fired from Israeli F-35 warplanes.
Akbari reported that between five and seven people were killed in the attack, which he witnessed from his office at the embassy.
