Israeli Strikes in Syria: At Least Five Hezbollah Commanders Killed, Syria Reports

Hezbollah confirms 5 activists killed in Syria by IDF strike

The Israeli Air Force carried out strikes in the north-west of Syria, specifically in the areas of An-Nirab and Al-Safira in the Aleppo province. The targets included pro-Iranian forces and the regular Syrian army. Despite Syrian air defense forces attempting to intercept the Israeli missiles, they were unsuccessful. Reports indicated that at least five Hezbollah commanders and fighters were killed in the strike.

The leadership of the Lebanese terrorist organization Hezbollah has officially acknowledged the death of five of its activists as a result of an IDF air strike on targets in the Syrian province of Aleppo. The report named the deceased as Ahmad Jawad Shahimi, Ibrahim Anis al-Zain, Mustafa Ahmad Makki, Atafana Ali Naheef, and Ali Saad al-Khaf. Ahmad Shahimi was identified as a high-ranking Hezbollah representative in Syria with responsibilities for the supply of weapons and ammunition and close ties to Iran.

Syrian bloggers shared photos and videos following the IDF air strikes in the Aleppo province. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) in London reported that at least 42 people were killed and many soldiers from Bashar al-Assad’s regime were injured, marking the highest number of victims from an Israeli attack in a long time. The targets near Aleppo International Airport included a weapons depot belonging to Hezbollah in the Jibrin area, defense factories in Al-Safir, and other locations in the Kafr Jum area.
