Israeli Transport Minister’s Official Visits Cost Taxpayers Over 1 Million Shekels in the Past Year

The state treasury spent a million shekels on Miri Regev’s visits to five countries in the past year

Israeli Transport Minister Miri Regev recently revealed the expenses incurred during her official visits to five countries in the past year. The Ministry disclosed this information in response to a request from the Derech Tslakha organization.

The total cost of the visits was approximately 1 million shekels, excluding security expenses. The most significant costs were incurred during the week-long delegation trip to Morocco, which amounted to 370 thousand shekels. Other visits cost 255 thousand shekels each in India and Sri Lanka, 295 thousand shekels in Mexico, and 164 thousand shekels in Georgia.

The Ministry’s transparency in sharing these figures allowed for clarity on taxpayer spending related to these official visits.
