Italian Government Condemns Iranian Attacks on Israel; Proactive Approach Aimed at Peaceful Solution

Meloni leads G7 summit, condemns Iran’s attack on Israel

The Italian government has reaffirmed its condemnation of Iranian attacks against Israel, following a conference at the leaders’ level organized by the G7 presidency. Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni expressed concern about the potential destabilization of the region and called for a proactive approach to prevent further conflict.

Meloni changed her agenda and suspended some scheduled commitments, including a visit to Vinitaly in Verona tomorrow, in response to the attack. Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani urged caution and hoped that Israel would refrain from retaliating against Iranian aggression. Tajani emphasized that Italy’s support for Israel was unwavering and that there was currently no risk to Italians.

The Italian government, under the leadership of the G7, aims to avoid escalation and make the parties involved more reasonable through diplomatic efforts and discussions with various diplomatic officials. The situation remains tense, and Italy is working closely with its Arab partners and international partners to find ways to prevent further conflict from occurring.

Italy’s proactive approach is part of its ongoing efforts to contribute to stability in the region. The country is committed to finding peaceful solutions that respect all parties involved while maintaining its own security interests.
