‘UK HealthCare to Host ‘Be Healthy Bash’ Event in Lexington’

The Be Healthy Bash is a summer kickoff event hosted by UK HealthCare in collaboration with the University of Kentucky Cooperative Extension Service, and several community partners. Taking place on June 8 at the Fayette County Extension Office in Lexington, the event will run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., and focus on overall well-being, including nutrition, fitness, and emotional wellness.

Attendees can expect a wide range of activities such as health screenings, wellness resources, free food, cooking demonstrations, emotional wellness activities, physical activities and games. In addition to these activities there will be inflatables for both kids and adults, a petting zoo, safety education at Safety City, a smoothie bike ride and more.

The aim of the Be Healthy Bash is to provide community members with access to healthy foods and educate them on the importance of eating well and staying active while highlighting the various health and wellness services available in the community. The event is presented by UK HealthCare’s Chief of Value-Based Programs Public Policy Community Initiatives Trudi Matthews who emphasizes this as an opportunity to showcase the university’s expertise in promoting healthy living within the community.

The event is free and open to the public; attendees can sign up at the registration table to receive Farmers’ Market vegetable vouchers. For more information about tabling partners or how to get involved visit their website [insert link].
