Neighbor Takes Stand Against Iran: “We Intercepted Aerial Targets”

Amid rising tensions in the region, Jordan announced the closure of its airspace and suspended the operation of Rabat Amman airport. Hours later, both countries resumed their airspace operations and flights were renewed. The government clarified that flying objects that had entered Jordan’s airspace were intercepted to protect citizens without causing significant damage.

In response to a warning from Iranian news agency Fars, King Abdullah II decided to side with Israel despite demonstrations near the Israeli embassy in solidarity with Hamas. Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman al-Safadi emphasized the importance of stopping Israeli aggression in Gaza and ending the occupation to bring about peace in the region. The Jordanian government reiterated its commitment to protecting its security and sovereignty and called for restraint to prevent escalation.

Despite the challenging atmosphere, Jordan put aside its differences and showcased a stronger partnership with Israel.
