Kate Middleton’s Maternal Uncle Speaks Out on Princess of Wales’ Cancer Diagnosis and Media Frenzy Surrounding Her Health

Update from Kate Middleton’s Family Following Cancer Diagnosis

Kate Middleton’s maternal uncle, Gary Goldsmith, spoke about the Princess of Wales’ handling of her cancer diagnosis in an exclusive interview with Spanish show ¡De Viernes! on March 30, 2024. Goldsmith praised Kate for her graceful approach to the situation and expressed his concern for her family and how they were affected by the media frenzy surrounding her diagnosis. He had been in touch with his sister Carol Middleton to ensure Kate’s well-being.

The media and online frenzy surrounding Kate’s whereabouts intensified when a digital photo of her and her three children was removed by major photo agencies due to suspected manipulation. Kate took responsibility for editing the photo and expressed her apologies for any confusion it caused in a statement shared on social media. Eventually, rumors were put to rest on March 22 when Kate revealed in a video message that she had been diagnosed with cancer after a planned abdominal surgery in January and was undergoing preventative chemotherapy.

Goldsmith expressed concern for Kate, particularly regarding comments and conspiracy theories surrounding the situation. He conveyed his love and support to Kate through messages to assure her of his feelings. Goldsmith had recently participated in the U.K. reality TV show Celebrity Big Brother, where he was the first housemate to be evicted by a public vote on March 8.
