Khanh Hoa Food Poisoning Alert: Multiple Incidents Involve Students, Highlighting the Need for Stricter Food Safety Measures

On April 9, 28 students from preschool, elementary school, and junior high school in To Hap town, Khanh Son district, experienced vomiting and stomach pain after eating rice rolls and rice balls in front of school. These students were taken to Khanh Son District Medical Center for emergency treatment, displaying symptoms of fatigue, nausea, and diarrhea.

The Department of Health is currently investigating the cause of the poisoning and collecting food and medical samples for testing. This incident marked the fourth mass poisoning in Khanh Hoa in just over a month, the third involving students as victims.

In another incident four days prior, 37 students in Vinh Truong ward, Nha Trang city, were poisoned after consuming various foods for breakfast. Although most of the students have been discharged from the hospital after treatment, one student tragically passed away. The cause of this poisoning remains unknown. Prior cases in March and the previous month have also occurred, with hundreds of people affected by contaminated food.

Authorities are actively investigating these cases of food poisoning in Khanh Hoa. Stricter food safety measures are being implemented to prevent future incidents and ensure the safety of the community. The surge in food poisoning cases in the region highlights the importance of continuous monitoring and regulation in food businesses to prevent such incidents from happening again.

Mrs. Bui Thi Luong has been identified as the seller who prepared and sold 114 servings of rice balls and 28 servings of rice rolls that morning on April 9th which led to these students falling ill.

The recent surge in food poisoning cases raises concerns about food safety practices within food businesses operating within Khanh Hoa province. It is important that authorities continue to take action against those responsible for these incidents while also implementing stricter regulations on food establishments to protect public health.

As an investigation continues into these incidents it’s crucial that authorities take swift action against any individual or business found responsible for causing harm through contaminated foods.
