Kim Woomin Dominates Korean Olympic Trials with Impressive Time of 3:43.69 to Secure World Champion Title

The 2024 Korean Olympic Trials concluded in Gimcheon, with world champion Kim Woomin delivering standout performances across the board. At just 22 years old, Kim dominated the men’s 400m free with a time of 3:43.69, cementing his position as one of the top competitors in the world in this event. Despite slightly falling short of his personal best of 3:42.71 in Doha last month, Kim’s time was still better than his 3:44.35 effort at last year’s Asian Games.

Moving to the men’s 50m free, Ji Yuchan took gold with a blistering time of 22.25, followed by Baek In-chul in 22.47 and Hwang Sunwoo in 22.53. Ji has been a dominant force on the international stage for years and has already qualified for Paris with his national and Games record of 21.72 set last year at the Asian Games. With several more days left to go in the trials, it is clear that Korea will have an incredibly strong roster when it comes to swimming competition at the Paris Olympics.
