WEST COLUMBIA, S.C. (WACH) – The 5th Annual Kinetic Derby Day featuring iMAGINE is set to take place on April 20, 2024. Running from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., the event will bring together participants dressed in cartoon character costumes to showcase their human-powered vehicles in a parade down State and Meeting Streets in West Columbia.
The day’s activities will kick off with the Kinetic Sculpture Parade at 10:30 AM on Meeting Street, promising to be an entertaining event for all ages. Following the parade, attendees can head over to the iMAGINE STEAM Festival on State Street, which features over 30 interactive booths that highlight Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (STEAM) subjects in a fun and engaging way. There will be activities suitable for all ages, making it an excellent opportunity for families to learn and have fun together.
For the little ones, there will be a dedicated Kids’ Zone with bounce houses and obstacle courses to ensure that everyone has something to enjoy. Additionally, there will be the Meeting Street Artisan Market, giant slide, food truck rally, chalk artists adding to the vibrant atmosphere of the event.
Thrilling competitions are also part of the Kinetic Derby Day schedule – Soapbox and Obstacle Racing on Meeting Street at 11 AM and 1:30 PM. These events are open to participants of all ages and offer an exciting challenge for those looking to test their skills and speed.
