Klein Vision: Redefining Air Travel with the First Passenger Flight Carrier Driven Both on Land and in the Air

Successful Flight of First Passenger-Carrying Flying Car

In 2022, Klein Vision Company in Slovakia achieved a remarkable milestone by completing the world’s first passenger flight using a vehicle that can move both on the road and in the air. The AirCar model, developed by Klein Vision, successfully carried French musician Jean-Michel Jarre during a test flight on an airport runway in Slovakia. The vehicle showcased its ability to seamlessly transition from driving on land to flying in the air, demonstrating its innovative design and functionality.

In addition to its successful test flight, AirCar completed its first inter-city flight between Nitra and Bratislava international airports in Slovakia in 2021. The vehicle received its airworthiness license in January 2022, after accumulating 130 flight hours and conducting 520 takeoffs and landings at various international airports. The AirCar is equipped with advanced features such as a retractable wing, foldable tail surface, and parachute opening system to ensure safety and optimal performance during flight.

The prototype stage of the AirCar utilized a 160 horsepower BMW engine with fixed pitch propellers and a ballistic parachute for enhanced safety measures. The two-seat version weighs approximately 1,100 kg and has a lifting capacity of 200 kg. Klein Vision plans to develop additional models of the AirCar, including 3 and 4-seat versions, dual engines, and amphibians, to cater to different requirements and preferences. The company is also exploring the use of the ADEPT aviation engine for future versions of the AirCar, aiming to achieve speeds over 300 km/h with a range of 1,000 km.

As the aviation industry continues to innovate and evolve, flying cars like the AirCar are paving the way for a new era in transportation. With advancements in technology and design, companies like Klein Vision are pushing the boundaries of what is possible in air travel
