John Taylor, former San Francisco 49ers player, inducted into Bay Area Sports Hall of Fame

John Taylor, a former wide receiver for the San Francisco 49ers, has been inducted into the team’s Hall of Fame. He joins an illustrious group of 49ers legends such as Patrick Willis, Jerry Rice, and Joe Montana who have also been honored in the Hall.

Originally drafted in the third round of the 1986 NFL Draft, Taylor played his entire 10-year career with the 49ers. During his time with the team, he made two Pro Bowl appearances, won three Super Bowl championships, and was named to the Pro Football Hall of Fame All-1980s team. Taylor’s impressive statistics include 347 receptions for 5,598 yards and 43 touchdowns. He also holds the record for the most punt returns in 49ers franchise history, with 149 returns for 1,517 yards and two touchdowns. One of Taylor’s notable achievements was his 95-yard punt return against Washington in the 1988 season, which remains the longest in 49ers history.
