Lenovo’s Surge in AI-Powered PC Demand: How Microsoft’s Latest Features are Fueling Growth

In recent years, Lenovo, a technology giant based in China and the world’s largest manufacturer of personal computers, has experienced an increase in demand due to new artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities. This surge in demand is expected to be driven by the recent introduction of new AI features for Windows operating systems by US software company Microsoft, which are integrated into Lenovo computers.

According to Lenovo executive Mirco Krebs, the company anticipates that PCs equipped with AI functions will transform user behavior much like previous technological advancements such as the internet and smartphones. This shift is expected to lead to growth in the industry. In the last quarter, Lenovo reported a 9% year-over-year increase in global turnover to $13.8 billion, with profits soaring from $114 million to $248 million.

The rise in revenue was predominantly fueled by strong demand from businesses, while consumer sales remained sluggish. Despite significant growth during the pandemic, the market for personal computers has cooled off in recent years. Additionally, the discontinuation of Microsoft’s support for Windows 10 in October 2025 may result in the replacement of an estimated 8 million PCs in Germany alone, as they may not be able to support the new Windows 11 system, Krebs noted.

Overall, Lenovo is poised to capitalize on the growing demand for PCs with AI capabilities and is optimistic about future growth prospects in the industry.
