Local Suspect Arrested in Connection to Multiple Break-Ins: Authorities Collaborate to Determine Extent of Criminal Activity

Sheriff’s Office Investigating Suspect in Recent Business and Office Break-ins While in Jail

A man from Zoarville is currently in jail awaiting formal charges related to a series of recent break-ins that took place at the Dollar General in Roswell, Tusky Valley Elementary, and the Atwood Dari Bar. The suspect, a 39-year-old man, was caught attempting to change the appearance of his truck at his home.

Deputy Chase Newell investigated the break-ins and surveillance footage showed a truck that was seen at all three locations. Authorities were able to track down the suspect and found him in possession of a stolen pop-up camper from Stark County. The suspect is accused of stealing Chromebooks from the elementary school, which have resale value. Additionally, cigarettes, food, and drinks were taken from the other locations.

The Sheriff’s Office is collaborating with the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office to determine if the suspect was involved in a recent theft at a Dollar General store in Sherrodsville. The investigation is ongoing and formal charges are pending from the county prosecutor’s office.
