Man arrested for stealing money from tip jar at Miami Beach business, leaving owner in shock

Suspect taken into custody for stealing tip jar from Miami Beach establishment

Jeffrey Lewis Scott, a 33-year-old man, was arrested on Wednesday for stealing money from the tip jar at a Miami Beach business, as reported by Local 10 News. According to jail records, Scott was taken into custody on a petit theft charge. The incident came to light when police identified Scott as the individual captured on surveillance video stealing money from the Bagel Time Cafe on Alton Road.

The owner of the cafe, Josh Nodel, described the theft as “smooth as butter” and said that the thief managed to steal $200 from the tip jar where larger bills were kept. This is not the first time that Bagel Time has made headlines. Previously, someone targeted the business by taking down an Israeli flag hanging outside and stomping on it multiple times. However, this time, the thief had different motives – cash.

As of Thursday morning, Jeffrey Lewis Scott was being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on a $2,500 bond. The investigation into the incident is ongoing and more details are yet to be released by local authorities.
