Mars Curiosity Rover Unearths Intriguing Outcrop for Further Investigation

Sols 935-936: Further Contact Science Investigations in Garden City

Curiosity has been tasked with studying the dark and light sections of the veins at “Garden City.” The rover will use MAHLI and APXS instruments on the veins, as well as conducting ChemCam and Mastcam observations to analyze potential variations in chemistry. Additionally, environmental monitoring activities will be carried out to track atmospheric composition, opacity, and to look for signs of dust devils.

Despite some setbacks with the weekend plan, the initial images received from the site have revealed that the outcrop is a complex and intriguing area that warrants further investigation. The team remains optimistic about the potential discoveries that lie ahead as Curiosity continues its exploration of Mars.
