Marvel Studios unveils the first look at Captain America: Brave New World at CinemaCon 2021

First Glimpse of ‘Brave New World’ Revealed at CinemaCon

Marvel Studios’ 2025 release Captain America: Brave New World has been shrouded in secrecy, but lucky attendees at San Diego Comic Con got a glimpse into the film during Disney’s closing CinemaCon session on Thursday. The new Anthony Mackie movie picks up where the 2021 Disney+ series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier left off, with Sam Wilson taking over the shield left behind by Steve Rogers.

During the presentation at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige described the film as a grounded political thriller before introducing Mackie to the audience. Mackie was thrilled to be starring in his own Marvel movie after a decade in the franchise and wasted no time in showing off some exclusive footage to attendees.

The clip opens with Harrison Ford’s POTUS requesting that Sam Wilson rebuild the Avengers after being impressed by his actions in Mexico. However, Wilson raises concerns about potential differences in management strategies. The scene then shifts to Ford giving a presentation to a room full of authorities before things take a dramatic turn when two individuals, Isaiah Bradley and a general, become possessed and turn on the crowd, including Ford’s character. In a nod to Air Force One, Ford’s tough POTUS character punches the military personnel in the face.

Captain America: Brave New World is directed by Julius Onah and written by Malcolm Spellman, Dallan Musson, and Matthew Orton and is set for release on February 14th 2025.
