Medicaid Fraud Charges Against Pennsylvania Care Home Owner Exceed $2 Million: Officials Allege Overbilling and Inadequate Training in Long-Term Care Facility

Owner of health care facility in Penn Hills indicted for federal charges

Pennsylvania Medicaid officials have charged Kelley Oliver-Hollis, owner of SerenityCare LLC, with 33 counts of health care fraud and other crimes. The allegations include making false statements related to health care matters and money laundering.

According to the indictment, Oliver-Hollis overcharged Pennsylvania Medicaid for services provided from December 2016 to July 2023. Additionally, the owner is accused of failing to properly train direct care workers, maintain accurate records and ensure residents’ homes were adequately maintained. As a result, false and fraudulent claims led to an overpayment of Medicaid benefits exceeding $2 million dollars.

Despite attempts to contact SerenityCare for comment, no immediate response was received. The investigation into these allegations involved multiple agencies, including the FBI, IRS, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, U.S. Department of Labor, the Allegheny County District Attorney’s Office, and the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office.
