Mercer’s Informatics Day 2023: Unlocking the Potential of Artificial Intelligence and Health Informatics in Healthcare with Industry Leaders and Alumni

AI and health informatics become focal points at Informatics Day in 2024.

Mercer University’s College of Professional Advancement (COPA) is excited to host its sixth annual Informatics Day on April 6 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Atlanta campus in the Administration and Conference Center, Room 190. This year’s event will focus on Artificial Intelligence and Health Informatics, with a goal of facilitating networking opportunities between students and professionals in the field.

Dr. Awatef A. Ben Ramadan, assistant professor of health informatics and the event organizer, expressed his excitement about the event as an opportunity for industry professionals to connect with informatics students and share insights about career prospects in the field. Dr. Feng Liu, professor of informatics and chair of the informatics and mathematics department, highlighted their commitment to using technology to benefit the community and improve quality of life through this event.

The event will feature presentations from a variety of industry professionals including a Cybersecurity Specialist/ Business Information Security Officer, a Robotic Software Engineer, an FBI Agent, and three outstanding Mercer informatics alumni who will provide insights into their career paths after graduation. Representatives from the Mercer Center for Career and Professional Development as well as the graduate and undergraduate admission offices will also be present at the event.

Informatics Day is open to all interested individuals including current students, prospective students or faculty members at no cost. It provides an excellent platform for students to gain valuable knowledge about various aspects of the informatics field while exploring potential career pathways within it
