Richard J. Simoncic Appointed as COO at Microchip Technology

Richard J. Simoncic has been appointed as the new Chief Operating Officer of Microchip Technology Incorporated, effective April 1, 2024. Simoncic, who has been with the company since 1990 and most recently served as Executive Vice President, will now work under the guidance of President and CEO Ganesh Moorthy. This move comes as Senior Vice President Stephen V. Drehobl is set to retire on June 7, 2024. The appointment of Simoncic signifies a focus on continuity and experience in Microchip Technology’s leadership team.

As part of his new role, Simoncic will oversee the day-to-day operations of Microchip Technology’s various business units, ensuring that they continue to operate efficiently and effectively. Simoncic brings decades of experience to his new position, having spent more than 30 years at Microchip Technology. During his tenure at the company, he has held a variety of leadership roles, including Executive Vice President and General Manager of several business units.
