Following a speech by Guy Ben Shimon at the Parliamentary State Control Commission, the Ministry of Health has officially denied claims that about 50 Nova Festival participants who survived the Hamas massacre on October 7th had committed suicide. The Ministry stated that they do not have data on the number of suicides or hospitalizations among surviving participants, and the figures mentioned during the meeting were incorrect.

According to Dr. Gilad Bodenheimer, head of mental health at the Ministry of Health, rumors about suicides and hospitalizations among Nova festival survivors were false. He confirmed that the Ministry had no knowledge of such data and emphasized that they are actively providing psychological and psychiatric care to survivors in collaboration with Bituach Leumi and the Ministry of Social Welfare.

The Prime Minister’s Office proposed a comprehensive government solution for survivors, and the Ministry is working within it to provide necessary treatment tailored to individual needs. Survivors and those in need of assistance are encouraged to contact the National Center for Mental Resilience for treatment.
