MLBPA to Review Sutter Health Park for Oakland A’s Temporary Home Status

MLBPA Ensures Sutter Health Park Meets League Standards for Oakland Athletics

The Oakland Athletics have announced that they will be playing at Sutter Health Park in West Sacramento for the 2025-2027 seasons before moving to Las Vegas for the 2028 MLB season. However, before the A’s can officially make Sutter Health Park their temporary home, they must ensure that the stadium meets league standards set by the Major League Baseball Players Association (MLBPA).

According to a spokesperson from the MLBPA, the union will need to sign off on Sutter Health Park meeting league standards before the A’s can play there. This includes making improvements to the clubhouses, weight rooms, field, and other amenities to ensure they meet MLB standards.

Sutter Health Park, which is currently home to the Sacramento River Cats, the Triple-A affiliate of the San Francisco Giants, recently underwent a multi-million dollar facilities renovation. The Sacramento Kings, who operate the ballpark, have stated that they will continue to modify the stadium to meet MLB standards, including upgrading LED lighting and adding an additional clubhouse.

The MLBPA has had preliminary discussions with MLB regarding the A’s temporary relocation to Sutter Health Park
