Mysterious Airstrikes Leave Two Dead, Injury Three on Iraqi Military Base

Unidentified aircraft bombs military base belonging to pro-Iranian Popular Mobilization Forces in Iraq

Reports have emerged that an attack was carried out on a military base of the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) in Babel, resulting in the death of at least two people and injury to three others. The sources, who requested anonymity, said the attack was perpetrated by “unknown planes” and targeted the Kalsu base, which houses fighters from the PMF, as well as Iraqi military and police personnel.

The base is located about 80 kilometers south of Baghdad and serves as a joint facility for the PMF and Iraqi security forces. Evidence suggests that the attack may have been carried out by Israeli airstrikes, as indicated by reports on social media. However, the sources emphasized that further investigation is needed to determine the exact cause of the attack.

The situation remains fluid as tensions continue to simmer in the region. Various armed groups and foreign powers are operating in Iraq, adding complexity to the political dynamics at play. As such, it is crucial that all parties involved work together to de-escalate tensions and maintain peace in the region.
