Saturday Schedule at Richmond Raceway for Cup and Xfinity Series

The NASCAR Cup and Xfinity series are set to return to Richmond Raceway this weekend for a back-to-back short track weekend. With the top two series taking center stage, fans can expect an exciting event with multiple past winners, including defending Xfinity winner Chandler Smith and former Cup winners Justin Allgaier and Cole Custer.

Throughout the Cup, Xfinity, and Truck races, NASCAR has issued a total of 40 penalties for cutting the course short. This serves as a reminder of the importance of following the rules and respecting the track conditions.

The entry list for this weekend’s race will include several guest drivers, such as Aric Almirola and Taylor Gray making his Xfinity debut. Additionally, accomplished short track racer Bubba Pollard will join JR Motorsports for his Xfinity debut.

Matt DiBenedetto is looking forward to making his first Xfinity start since 2019 with new team Viking Motorsports. He will need to qualify for the Xfinity race on speed during Saturday morning’s session. The weather forecast for Richmond Raceway shows cloudy skies with a high of 70 degrees on Saturday, with a 2% chance of rain at the start of the Xfinity race.

Ty Gibbs has been a consistent driver in NASCAR this season, with plenty of track activity scheduled for Saturday, including Xfinity practice, qualifying, and the Cup practice and qualifying sessions. The Xfinity race is set to take place on Saturday afternoon with a total of 250 laps covering 187.5 miles. Fans can expect an exciting event with plenty of action and twists as these top drivers compete on one of NASCAR’s most challenging tracks.
