NBA Veteran Isaiah Thomas Joins Phoenix Suns for Playoff Push

Suns confirm Isaiah Thomas will stay with team for the rest of the season

The Phoenix Suns are set to sign point guard Isaiah Thomas for the remainder of the season, following his successful comeback in the NBA. This was reported by Shams Charania of The Athletic on Monday. Thomas had previously played with the Suns during the 2014-15 season and returned to the team on March 20 after completing a 10-day contract. In his time with the team, he has played in four out of ten games, scoring five points and two assists in 14 minutes.

Head coach Frank Vogel mentioned that Thomas would not be part of the rotation when the team is healthy but would provide depth in case of injuries or foul trouble. Thomas, an 11-year veteran with playoff experience, expressed confidence in his ability to score when called upon and also in his capacity to be a positive influence in the locker room.

With just four games remaining in the regular season, the Suns are fighting for a top six spot to avoid the play-in tournament. They will face the Los Angeles Clippers twice in the upcoming week, with a home game on Tuesday followed by an away game on Wednesday.
