Congress approves agreement to abolish roaming charges in Mercosur countries

The Mercosur Roaming Agreement, signed in 2019, has been approved by Congress. This measure will eliminate roaming charges for travelers visiting Brazil, Paraguay, and Uruguay. The agreement was made official with the publication of Law No. 27,740 in the Official Gazette, signed by Vice President Victoria Villarruel and Deputy Martín Menem.

Silvana Giudici led the negotiations for this agreement as the former president of the National Communications Entity and current PRO deputy. The agreement aims to simplify communication for travelers in the region by eliminating international roaming charges.
