New Lenox Unveils $70 Million Sports Complex Set to Transform the Local Economy

Groundbreaking ceremony held for new 100-acre sports complex in Chicago suburb

New Lenox, Illinois – Village leaders have recently begun construction on a massive new sports complex. Known as the New Lenox Crossroads Sports Complex, the facility will be located near Silver Cross Hospital and will feature 29 youth baseball and softball fields, 12 soccer/multi-use fields, a welcome center, a beer garden, batting cages, a playground, and concession stands.

The $70 million project is expected to be completed by spring of 2025 and will include a fieldhouse for basketball, volleyball, wrestling, pickleball, and other sports. In addition to the sports facilities, there will be more than 10 acres dedicated to restaurant, retail, and/or hotel use. Officials estimate that the project will create $12 million in economic development for New Lenox in its first year and $20 million by year three. Once fully operational, the complex is expected to generate more than $34 million in annual economic activity with 1 million visitors per year.
