New Vice President Brings Decades of Business Experience and Community Involvement to Lake Land College

John Woodruff Joins Lake Land College as Vice President of Business Services

John Woodruff, of Charleston, was recently appointed as the Vice President for Business Services at Lake Land College in Mattoon, IL by the Board of Trustees during their regular meeting on April 8. Woodruff will officially take up his new role on April 24 and will serve as the Chief Financial Officer for the college. In this position, he will provide strategic guidance and oversight for all business operations, including information systems, facilities planning, physical plant management, human resources, auxiliary services, and accounting.

Woodruff brings a wealth of experience to his new role with a bachelor’s degree and a master’s in business administration from Eastern Illinois University. He has spent 30 years in leadership positions at Consolidated Communications, Inc., most recently as the Senior Director of the Network Operations Center. Woodruff is also the president and majority owner of Express Drive Thru’s, Inc. in Mattoon, a successful business he launched 15 years ago.

Aside from his professional accomplishments, Woodruff is actively involved in his community. He is a licensed official for local track & field and volleyball with the IHSA and was recognized as Official of the Year by the IVCA in 2023. He has also served on various community boards with organizations like the Lincoln-Sargent Foundation, CCAR Industries, MASA and Eastern Illinois University Panther Club.
